The examination procedure at NSHM Knowledge Campus, Kolkata - Group of institutions follow a standardized system to ensure fair and consistent assessment of students.

Examination procedure in each semester typically includes:

  • Theory Papers
  • Practical/Sessional Papers
  • Project Work/Internship (in later semesters)
  • Viva Voce / Presentation for practical/project works.

Formative/Continuous assessment are conducted based on four assessments for theory (CA) and two assessments for practical (PCA) subjects through Presentation / Assignments / Pen & paper exam / Lab Work etc.

Obtained Marks from CA/PCAs (visible to the students in real time, once entered in the ERP) are added to final results which constitutes 30% of total marks.

Attendance policy: Minimum of 75% class/ lab. attendance is mandatory to appear for CA/PCA and end semester exam.

End semester exam:

Form Fill-Up guidelines:

Students must fill online exam forms through the MAKAUT exam portal (https://makautexam.net/) and pay the requisite exam fee and download the admit card, issued online, before the exam. Students must mandatorily carry the same. Without admit card and student ID, entry is not allowed.

Semester Exam (End-Term) is conducted in offline (pen-paper) mode under strict invigilation and university-level oversight.

Time duration: 3 hours.

The question paper pattern includes MCQs, short and long answer type questions.

Practical/Viva Exams are conducted at college level but evaluated by external examiners through performance of lab experiments / Project demonstration (as applicable) and Viva-voce by external/internal examiners.

Evaluation Process:

Centralized evaluation by MAKAUT-appointed examiners.

OMR-based record coupled with descriptive answer script checking through Digital evaluation system of the affiliating University and digital marks entry via the University ERP system.

Result Publication:

End semester exam results are published on the university exam portal (in student’s login) displaying subject-wise marks/grades alongwith 

SGPA (Semester Grade Point Average), CGPA (Cumulative GPA).

Grading System:

Follows conventional as well as the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) depending on the Programmes.

PPR/ PPS: Students can apply for post publication review / post publication scrutiny of their answer scripts within a specific window, subject to application and payment of required fees.

Backlog / Supplementary Exam. can be cleared in the next regular exam cycle.
