The main function of IQAC at NSHM is to foster academic excellence through research based learning. In this endeavour NSHM promotes research among faculty members as well as students. Faculty members are encouraged to attend seminars, FDP programs, publish national and international papers in reputed journals, contribute to book chapters, author books and undertake projects as principal investigator, etc. To encourage faculty members in participating FDP programs, the institute provide study leaves to the faculty members. In certain cases, if there is any financial assistance needed the same is provided to the faculty members. Students are encouraged to do dissertation, field visit, corporate visit, international student exchange programs, value added courses and master degree students are encouraged to publish joint papers under the supervision of a faculty member.

NSHM conducts two International Seminars (one in Pharmacy and one in Management) every year where experts and senior academicians are invited from premiere institutions from India and Abroad. Both the seminars are attended by Industry experts, faculties and students from different institutions across the country. Each seminar is followed by a Journal release pertaining to the theme of the seminar. NSHM published two International Journals and one National Journal.

IQAC in coordination with the management looks into the infrastructural development of the institution on a half yearly basis. It tries to make sure that no stone is left unturned in case of any infrastructural needs for smooth running of the academic and research activities in the Institution. IQAC conducts quarterly meetings with the Principal of the Institution to understand the ever changing needs in the academic and research field. IQAC similarly has quarterly meeting with the admission, branding and placement department to look into promotional activities needed for admission as well as the corporate relationship building needed for placement.

IQAC throughout the year tries to develop innovative modules that can serve as Best Practice for the Institution. NSHM under the guidance of IQAC have developed several clubs that nurtures the hobbies of the students. Recently NSHM Astronomy Club members participated in the NASA Astrophoto competition. Soon the Astronomy Club will be having a full-fledged observatory for all NSHM students and outside institute students. Similarly, NSHM has a Cinematography and Photography looks that nurtures the creative side of the students. NSHM also has a sports club that looks into yearly sport meets and celebrates Fit India Week every November. NSHM also has a cultural club that look into the music, dancing, drama, etc.

IQAC in coordination with Administration Department looks into the laboratory needs, library needs, computer lab needs and language lab need in a half yearly basis. IQAC also in coordination with the Human Resource Department looks into the faculty and staff needs in the institution.

IQAC also tries to enhance collaborative research and academics with hosts of MOUs with national and international institutions and Universities.
