Gender Policy

Equal opportunities shall be provided to all, irrespective of the gender. No discrimination on the basis of gender shall be entertained in the institution.
Freedom to express opinion shall be granted to all irrespective of the gender.
Effective safety measures, such as security guards of both gender, CCTV cameras shall be enforced.
There shall be unbiased and confidential grievance addressal cell for solving any issues related to gender inequality in the institution
Students and faculty shall be educated about sensitivity towards gender through various Gender Sensitization workshops.

Gender Sensitisation Initiatives

1. Workshop at NSHM Campus
With a view to promote gender equality and women empowerment across every sector and preventing all forms of violence against women that negatively impact gender equality and human dignity, the Government of India has promulgated The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013. It is the responsibility of every employer to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Act. The employers are also mandated to conduct sensitization workshops for all their Team Members periodically to make them aware about the provisions of the Act and towards the need for upholding the dignity of women and end gender stereotypes.

2.Committees formed for Protection of gender equality
The following initiatives have been undertaken by the College for the convenience of girl students:
Study Room for female students

Independent study room provides girl students undistracted study time

Ladies Common Room

There is adequate space in the Ladies Common Room and silence is maintained for girls to study

Girls Washroom

Girls' washrooms are situated at every floor in the college with ample water supply and proper maintenance and available facilities for female staff and students.Vending machine facilities for sanitary pads is also available in the girls’ washrooms

Drinking Water

Water coolers and water purifiers have been provided for boys and girls in the College campus

College Committees

The college has established a number of committees to aid girl students and ladies staff. These committees include:

Grievance redressal Committee The Committee has 4 female and 2 male members . To this effect a special initiative has been taken in the form of creation of women's’ helpline cell to immediately address any untoward issue related to female students.

Discipline Committee

The college publishes its regulations in the prospectus. The college has formed a Discipline Committee. The students in distress owing to Discipline related incidents can assess the committee. The committee has 12 females, 14 males. The Principal of the College is the Chairperson of the Discipline Committee.

Women's Forum

Women Empowerment and Gender Equality are the most important requirements for the upliftment and progress of our nation. The forum has both the faculty and nonteaching of the College as its members and works with an aim to create a gender sensitized community within campus as well as in the society. It has been organizing various skill enhancement, academic, technical, medical, cultural and social events for the upliftment of women and promotion of the importance of gender equality in society through the College students.

Angan and Uday as Centres for extra curricular activities

Participation of both students and staff members irrespective of gender in various events have been consistently promoted in this institution.
