NJMRA - Publication Ethics
Plagiarism
The NJMRA always investigates claims of plagiarism or misuse of published articles and takes issues of copyright infringement, plagiarism, or other breaches of best practices in publication very seriously. Using someone else’s words, phrases, concepts, or research findings without giving them due credit, text recycling, inadequate paraphrasing, verbatim copying of content without placing quotation marks and not crediting the work of the original author, inadequate paraphrasing of the source material, or increased resemblance between the various sections, as well as between them, fake authorship claims, duplicate submissions, and fraudulent data use are some of the cases of information plagiarism.
We seek to protect both – the rights of our authors and the reputation of the journal against malpractice. Submitted articles are checked with duplication-checking software. If an article is found to have plagiarized, included third-party copyright material without permission, or the authorship is contested, we may publish a correction, retract the article, consult with relevant academic bodies or societies, or take legal action. We are committed to upholding academic integrity and excellence. An overall similarity of 15% is permitted by the NJMRA for an article to be evaluated for publication.
Publishing Ethics
It’s important to be aware of the ethical issues involved in publishing work to the NJMRA. The Journal adheres to high standards of publishing ethics and has strict processes in place to ensure that these standards are met. Here are some of the major ethical issues to keep in mind:
- Before submitting author(s) must confirm that it’s their original content and that they have all the necessary rights and permissions to reproduce any copyrighted material. The submitted work should not be currently under consideration or previously published elsewhere.
- Authors are recommended to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and review our ethical practice guidelines.
- Every author listed in an article should have made a significant contribution to the work (be it in research conception or design, data acquisition, and data analysis and interpretation). All authors must equally share responsibility and accountability for the content of the article.
- When citing others’ work or one’s previous work, authors need to be sure to mark quoted text, attribute and reference the source clearly, and obtain permission to use any previously published figures or tables. Authors are expected to avoid accidental plagiarism by checking for similarities in their work or avoid self-plagiarism by properly citing their previous work.
- The data should be accurate and representative of the research. The editorial team may request raw data as a supplemental file for publication, and cases of data fabrication or falsification will be evaluated by the Editorial Team.
- Be honest about any competing interests, such as research funding, financial support, or other forms of support. Failure to declare a competing interest may result in the rejection or retraction of your paper if it affects the interpretation of the results.
Copyright Agreement and Permission
All authors, who hold the rights to their manuscript, are required to sign a Journal Contributor’s Publishing Agreement before publication in accordance with NJMRA regulations. Submissions of articles will not be accepted without this form filled out. The exclusive rights to the subject shall be assigned by the Author and co-author(s) to the Publisher all through the copyright, with effect from the date the agreement comes into effect. This includes the rights to translate, reproduce, transfer, distribute, or use the materials in full or in parts/fragments contained within the work for publication, in English, be it in print or electronic editions, in all media or formats now existing, or that may exist in the future, as well as the right to license (or grant permission to) third parties to use the materials for publication in journals.
Wherever copyrighted material is used in the article, the authors should be accurate in reproduction and obtain permission from the copyright holders, if necessary.
Journals Permissions
For academic purposes, it is permissible to reuse or reproduce significant portions of NJMRA publishing content without prior permission. This includes text, figures, tables, multimedia content, and any other material published by NJMRA. Our Journal article abstracts may be reused in their entirety for non-commercial purposes without needing permission. However, if you choose to utilize any content in full or in part, as permitted under this agreement for reproduction, placement, transfer, or other distribution or use, it is important to include a reference to both the Journal and the Publisher. This reference should include the article’s title, the author’s name(s), the name of the Journal, volume/number, and the publisher’s copyright.
